Two Orange County middle schools earn top honors at the 2021 national Academic Pentathlon
Two middle school teams from Orange County were awarded silver medals in their respective grade levels at the 2021 United States Academic Pentathlon. The seventh-grade team from Lakeside Middle School in the Irvine Unified School District and the eight-grade team from Fairmont Private Schools‘ Historic Anaheim Campus both earned second place overall in their grade levels at the May 21 competition, which was held completely online.

Tustin High celebrates its Class of 2021, including one senior who won a car
Tustin High saluted its graduates in three ceremonies on Tuesday, May 25. The socially distances events featured cheering families and smiling grads as they accepted their diplomas at the Northrup Stadium on the Tustin High School campus. One highlight of graduation season in the Tustin Unified School District is the awarding of a car to one of the seniors. The car is donated by Tustin Toyota. The winner, Giovanni Andablo, was chosen in a drawing at the most recent school board meeting and announced during the student’s ceremony.

Some Pasadena parents are pushing for a full-time school schedule in the fall. Families created Open PUSD Schools and wrote a letter to both the Pasadena Unified School District and United Teachers of Pasadena asking that classrooms be open five days a week during the 2021-2022 school year.
