Santa Ana High principal claims ‘racist’ behavior by Aliso Niguel students at football game
Santa Ana High School principal Jeff Bishop said his school’s football team and its students were the target of provocative and racially insensitive signs when it played at Aliso Niguel High School on Friday night. Bishop posted on Facebook that in and around Aliso Niguel’s on-campus stadium he saw posters that included offensive comments, including “Build the Wall,” a reference to President Donald Trump’s campaign promise that a wall would be built on the United States-Mexico border if he was elected.

Both sides lobbying California governor on bill to delay school start time for teens
California teens may get to sleep a bit later before heading to school, if the governor signs a bill requiring middle and high schools to start no earlier than 8:30 a.m. But not everyone agrees that allowing the legislature to dictate the starting times of local schools is good policy. Middle and high school students in California start their school day on average at 8:07 a.m. according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a time that researchers say denies them badly needed sleep.
