Anaheim High Principal Robert Saldivar is first alum to lead the campus
A homecoming game a little more than 20 years ago at Anaheim High School changed Principal Robert Saldivar’s life. Saldivar, a then 19-year-old sophomore student and aspiring physical therapist at Cal State Fullerton, visited his alma mater to catch up with friends and enjoy the game.

Registration plans for Orange Unified School District campuses
The countdown begins! Only 21 days of summer vacation remain for Orange Unified School District students. Parochial and private school students may begin even earlier (Orange Lutheran High) or later (Oakridge Private School) in the month. It’s time for registration.

UCI chancellor says 290 students, accepted and then turned down, will be allowed into the university
UC Irvine Chancellor Howard Gillman took control Wednesday of the campus controversy in which 499 incoming freshmen were told they had lost their offers to enroll, calling the process “heartbreaking” and “unacceptable” – and announcing that 290 of them can indeed become Anteaters. Others whose grades dropped too low can appeal but are still on the outside.

Advocacy groups challenging this California state housing rule say it uproots farmworkers' children from schools
More than 30 community organizations and advocates are ramping up their efforts to reverse a California housing rule that they say uproots the children of migrant farmworkers from their schools twice a year, causing them to fall behind and often drop out. The regulation from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, known as the “50-mile rule,” requires farmworkers to clear out of state-run migrant camps at the end of a growing season and move more than 50 miles away.
